NINA GARCIA (FR)
Miraculous solo shredding from the electric maverick formerly known as Mariachi. Nina Garcia’s dynamic guitarwork amasses immensity through minimalism, using an electromagnetic microphone to create great tensions from the smallest of gestures. Shades of noise, drone, post-punk and blues converge and collapse around the artist and instrument’s dance.
PLEB (UK)
Slow, synergised sorrow from a guitar-and-drums sludge duo playing in the tradition of void enjoyers Corrupted. Spun off from Give Over, Pleb grind metal down to its rawest form, schlepping sparse, despondent riffs through a chorus of amps, thumps and growls.
ARNAUD RIVIÈRE (FR)
Arnaud Rivière’s scrapyard experiments are a loving tribute to repaired and repurposed sound. Equipped with a decrepit, fixed-up turntable, along with as many devices he can fit in a single square foot, he creates ecstatic, jumpstarted noise that’s all about the physical connections between performer and object.
