Experience this sculptural and meditative installation within the cloister of Kirkstall Abbey, commissioned for the Leeds Mindfulness Festival.
Labyrinths have long been used as spiritual and meditative tools across various cultures and spiritual traditions. They consist of a single non-branching path leading to the centre and back out again. The journey inward symbolises inner reflection, and the path outward symbolises reintegration into the world with new clarity.
Labyrinths, despite being used long before any contemporary religion, have a more modern connection to monks and monasteries, making this installation at Kirkstall Abbey pertinent.
Take part in the kinaesthetic meditation of walking the labyrinth, allowing sculptural installations by the artist to help guide your experience.
