Fresh Junk and Aamina Stenhouse have joined forces to bring you Jam On Toast, a space for dancers and musicians to meet, exchange knowledge and jam.
The evening is split into two, with a dance workshop followed by an open styles jam - accompanied with live musicians! The Jam is open styles which means that any dancer of any background can join in. We welcome those with and without experience and foster a space for connection and exchange.
Workshop
The workshop changes with each event. Previous workshops included Beatmotion with Akeim Toussaint Buck, Salsa with Sabroso Academy, Contact Dance with Amani Talheth-Fell, Hip Hop with Aamina Stenhouse.
OPEN JAM
At the end of the night we've invited some of the best musicians of Leeds to join us for an improv Jam, taking it in turns to exchange and share movement to a live soundtrack. Dancers improvise to the music, and musicians improvise to the dance.
Taking place in the warmth and joyful space of Open Source Arts - Kirkstall Road.

Access
Unfortunately, the dancefloor is only accessible by stairs. There is a kitchen with water, and an area you can go to sit away from the event at any point.
