Isabella Bretz and Rodrigo Lana present an intimate voice and piano concert, bringing together their own songs and interpretations of artists who have shaped their musical journey. From Brazil but based in Portugal, they bring to the stage the strength of their roots combined with references to different cultures, creating a diverse repertoire with lyrics in Portuguese and English.

Isabella Bretz is a singer, songwriter, cultural producer, and international analyst. She holds a degree in International Relations and a postgraduate degree in International Law. As a singer, she has released five albums and one EP of original music. She is co-author of the book “Audio Knowledge for Singers”, manager of the “Audio For Singers” project, and creator of the “Audio For Singers Award”, initiatives dedicated to democratizing access to audio and technology knowledge for artists. She is also co-creator of “Sonora – International Festival of Women Composers and Songwriters”, being part of the global coordination of the network and responsible for the Lisbon edition.

Isabella is a composer and executive producer of the audiovisual project “Pequenezas”, which presents short reflections on life and with which she released her first book of poetry in 2022. Isabella works as a cultural manager in multiple projects and has completed training in Music Business at various national and international institutions.

Since 2017, Isabella has been dedicated to research and artistic experiences within the Lusophone world, when she released the album Songs to Shorten Distances: a Journey Through the Portuguese Language. The record is made up of eight poems, each from a different Portuguese-speaking country, all written by living authors at the time of release. The project soon expanded into other areas, with Isabella taking part and partnering in academic activities at universities in different countries, discussion circles, debate panels, literary festivals, and more. As a result of this work, she was invited to serve as Master of Ceremonies and Moderator of the International Portuguese Language Day at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Isabella works in a multidisciplinary way, weaving together different areas of knowledge, building bridges, and exchanging experiences in pursuit of a broad vision and a diverse, inclusive society.

Rodrigo Lana has around 20 years of experience in audio. His journey in music began even earlier, as a pianist, three decades ago. He was born in Carmo do Paranaíba, Brazil, and by the age of 10 was already dividing his childhood playtime with music studies. Years later, he moved to Belo Horizonte, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in piano and, in parallel, began an extensive exploration of the world of audio, in which he has worked ever since.

As a musician, he has won several awards (including three in the important BDMG Cultural competition) and has taken part in dozens of projects. However, interwoven with this artistic career, his work in the technical and music production fields gradually gained more and more prominence, becoming his main activity.

Rodrigo was the founder of the instrumental group Diapasão, and through the group’s practices and research, he gained extensive experience both on stage and in studio recordings. Over the years, he has produced, recorded, and mixed works by various artists, as well as created productions for theater. Together with Isabella Bretz, he released a groundbreaking book in the market, Audio Knowledge for Singers.

In addition to the book, Rodrigo freely shares technical knowledge about music production, mixing, and mastering on his YouTube channel, Rodrigo Lana. Through this work he has achieved significant growth, with strong audience engagement across several Portuguese-speaking countries.
