Static Caravan screen Human Highway which was filmed over four years as (occasional auteur) Neil Young drifted into his strangest era, 1982's Human Highway is a surreal blast of nuclear anxiety. Co-directed with Dean Stockwell, it stars Young alongside a radioactive DEVO in a wasteland of atomic sludge, motor oil and milk baths.
Stick around for a raffle and a post-apocalyptic DJ set featuring DEVO and Neil Young.
(Content Warning: This film contains brownface and the use of an anti-Arab slur, which we acknowledge as offensive and harmful).
This screening is part of Scalarama Leeds 2025 Film Festival, a DIY celebration of pop-up cinema and independent film exhibition.
