Have you ever seen a mushroom in the woods and wondered what it is? Here's your chance to ask! Join Friends of Gipton Wood's Fungi Foray on Sunday 19th October. This will be a gentle walk led by local nature expert, Steve Joul, pointing out all kinds of fungi as we go. This annual event is always popular and full of fun(gi) facts!
It gives us all a great way to really stop and look closely at the woodland and its bounty that we often miss as we stride through on our way to work, school, the shops or just somewhere else.
All ages are welcome! Children are free to join in with the mushroom hunt as well as explore the wood as we walk.
When: Sunday 19 October at 2pm
Where: Meet at the Mosaic Steps Entrance on Roundhay Road (opposite Rounday Pub)

Less ambulant people can access the Wood at the end of Oakwood Drive or Gipton Wood Road where the wood is flatter, but the footpaths are slightly uneven. We are meeting at the bottom of steps but can meet you in the wood if you email us at friendsgiptonwood@gmail.com
