This comedy set in 1970 stars Paul Giamatti, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Dominic Sessa – a curmudgeonly history teacher, Professor Paul Hunham, played by Giamatti, at a New England boarding school remains on campus during Christmas break to supervise held over students, and ends up forming an unlikely bond with a brainy but damaged troublemaker.

Reviews:
The Guardian: Alexander Payne’s story of a cantankerous teacher holed up for Christmas with a wayward teen and the school cook is expertly told with gentle, grownup comedy.
Empire Online: 4 out of 4 stars – Consistently hilarious, undercut with melancholy and flecked with profundity, it’s a major return to form for Payne after 2017’s shrinking-people drama Downsizing, and nothing less than a brand-new Christmas classic.
