Join us at Left Bank Leeds this November for the Elements of Nature Showcase Launch — a joyful celebration of creativity, collaboration, and our shared connection to the natural world.
From September to November 2025, six early-career artists have been working closely with communities across Leeds as part of Elements of Nature, a new collaborative arts project funded by Leeds Inspired and Leeds City Council’s Grow programme. Each artist chose an element — Earth, Water, Light, Shadow, or Time — as a starting point to explore how creativity can help us reflect on sustainability, place, and the rhythms of nature that shape our lives.
Through a series of free, hands-on workshops, participants have painted, printed, sculpted, recorded, and experimented — coming together to co-create new artworks that weave together individual voices, shared experiences, and collective imagination.
The showcase launch brings all of this work together in a vibrant public exhibition at Left Bank Leeds. Visitors will be able to experience:
Light Reactive Doodles with Jai’la Anderson, exploring colour, calm, and transformation through light.
Cyanotype Mapping with Annabel Cohen, turning shadows, textures, and memories into striking blue prints.
Community Animation Lab with Ellie Dawes, blending collage, sound, and storytelling in a celebration of Earth and community.
BioPlastic Futures with George Moody, an exploration of queer ecology and sustainable materials through handmade bioplastics.
Community Harvest Printing with Jenny Wright, screen-printed artworks inspired by growth, resilience, and renewal.
Living Wall Tiles with Aasia Kazmi, earthen cob and ceramic tiles pressed with natural textures to form a living patchwork of community memory.
Together, these works form a powerful and poetic reflection on what it means to create with — and not just about — the natural world.
The Showcase Launch will feature opportunities to meet the artists, see the work that our community has created over last few weeks, and enjoy an evening of conversation, connection, and inspiration. It’s a chance to see how art can bring people together — to slow down, make something meaningful, and imagine a more sustainable future for Leeds.
Free and open to all — everyone is welcome!
Come celebrate the creativity of your community and experience the Elements of Nature in a whole new way.
