Continuum is an exhibition of work by a group of Level 2 Fine Art students from the University of Leeds.
Continuum is that tapestry of despair in which threads of lingering and looming dread interweave, and the physicality of fear and morbid curiosity pulsate.
In this exhibition we navigate murky intersections of identity, memory and the grotesque.
Peer with us into squalid corners and private spheres where the mind cannibalises the body. Venture out to where those bodies twitch and writhe, mutated and morphed into vessels for something wholly incomprehensible to us of present or past.
Gaze upon us as we turn upon ourselves, where the world turns upon us and finally; where we have turned the world upon itself. Gaze upon the continuum.
Continuum presents the work of five emerging artists from the University of Leeds. Bound by themes of control, transformation and the body, the exhibition unfolds as a haunting sequence, where personal experience mutates into shared unease. From subversions of feminine representations and bodily distortion to memory of domestic spaces and ecological decay.
Continuum drifts between the intimate and the universal. These works invite the viewers to confront discomfort, question boundaries, and step into shifting psychological terrains.
