We are delighted to welcome Artist Paul Digby back to host this popular workshop!
You are invited to join us for a workshop designed to provide you with a basic introduction to drawing skills and techniques including cross hatching, scumbling measuring, perspective, texture and light and dark contrasts.
You will explore new techniques and practice them in our beautiful building using pencil, graphite, charcoal and watercolour. This workshop is perfect for anyone who would like to develop or refresh their drawing skills or for an absolute beginner.
Paul is based in Leeds and widely exhibited. Along side his practice, Paul has worked on community projects in partnership with Leeds Art Gallery, Baltic Gallery (Newcastle) and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Paul says of his work: ‘my work involves layers of application including concepts and materials that all contribute to finished objects. I place an object as a stimuli for people to respond to in spaces, so that people experience something of my original intent. The object exists as a theoretical and physical contrast: finished/unfinished, stimuli/response, dark/light all helping create form’.
You can find out more about Paul’s work at www.pauldigby.co.uk
This workshop will be a full day at Left Bank from 9.30am-3:30pm and all materials will be provided, although you are welcome to bring along your own. The café bar will be open all day for lunch, snacks and drinks and there will be plenty of breaks.
Tickets cost £37 for this workshop. If you would really like to come but are unable to pay for it, please contact sue@leftbankleeds.org.uk to apply for an assisted place.
