until Spring 2026

Established in 2024 as a non-profit Community Interest Company, OUT OF MANY PEOPLE are curators of arts, heritage and culture programming in Leeds and the wider Yorkshire & Humber region that is rooted in authentic narratives and storytelling of the Caribbean and African diasporas.

Over two decades, our founders Dawn Cameron and Susan Pitter have led acclaimed projects grounded in the Black British cultural heritage they are so very proud of. The result? Exceptional events showcasing international names and community voices with equal respect.

Out of Many People's first programme is the highly anticipated ROOTED. From Black History Month in October 2025 to Spring 2026, Rooted features literary giants and powerhouse conversations, a poetic springboard, a celebration of Black writing children can see themselves in, community workshops, masterclasses and more. Rooted is a home for authentic Black storytelling, told by Black voices, to be shared with all.
