Hope - Exhibition Open Call

Rebecca Solnit wrote on living in dark times: ‘We are living through times of unprecedented change, but in uncertainty lies the power to influence the future. Now is not the time to despair, but to act. Hope is an embrace of the unknown.’
What does hope mean to you? What does it represent? Does it energise you? Does it reflect in your art?
Do you live in East Leeds and make art? Would you like to share your creations with others? Space2 is looking for contributions to our upcoming exhibition responding to the theme of ‘Hope.’
Open to all visual artists in East Leeds and Space2 participants. You don’t have to be a professional artist – if you make art we’d love to see it and exhibit it. You are welcome to submit up to 3 pieces. Our exhibition space can only accept the art that can be hung, so please make sure that your submissions are 2D.
Space2 is an arts and social change charity based in East Leeds, we celebrated our 20th year anniversary last year. Our building is part The Old Fire Station community hub. We have an art workshop space where we run community art groups and have our exhibition space. Throughout the year, we curate a range of exhibitions and events involving our participants and people from the local area. We know that there are many people across East Leeds who are brilliant creatives and we want them to have a space to showcase their work locally.
