Introduction to Portraiture | A Philip Naviasky Inspired Workshop

Dive into the world of portraiture with our captivating workshop inspired by the renowned Leeds based artist Philip Naviasky!

Join us for an immersive introduction to portraiture, where you'll draw inspiration from Naviasky's mesmerizing artworks showcased throughout our amazing building. Under the guidance of the amazing Jemima, a local artist based at Assembly House, you'll learn essential techniques and tips to bring your portrait to life.

Let's Make History: Code, Craft, Create

Tap into your creativity and travel back in time!  

We will be building, coding and paper-folding our way through the past and celebrating Local and Community History Month by exploring our online archive, Leodis. Using Lego, origami and basic robotics we will recreate old images of Leeds and navigate Victorian maps. Will you construct a knee-high town hall? Or programme a Bit:Bot to travel down the Headrow? Let's make history! Taking place a various venues on different dates across the city:

Scrap Playful Makers

Join us over the May Half Term holiday for SCRAP Playful Makers - two rooms of open ended loose parts play and creative maker activities.

For children aged 6 and under. Lots of space for building, making and playing with mountains of wonderful scrap.

Our little cafe will be open serving hot/cold drinks and cakes.

Parents to stay with their children, each session lasts an hour and a half. Booking essential.

Tickets are £6 per child.

Northern Roll 2024

Northern Roll 2024 is one of the UK's largest Roller Skate festival held in Leeds set over 3 days. 

Some of the world best skaters flying over from across the world are attending to run a range of master classes for beginners all the way to pro skaters. 

The biggest, most exciting day is Saturday 11th May where we are taking over the Royal Armouries Exhibition Hall to host family friendly roller disco followed by an over 18's event. 

Illustrator Meet-up

Join us for our monthly get together of BREW – the illustration meetup for Leeds.

On the first Wednesday of every month we’ll be meeting up at Water Lane Boathouse. We’ll have a reserved area, and be ready there to meet you.

There will be a friendly group of local artists and illustrators to chat to - lots of people come alone, or in small groups. No need to bring anything, but if you fancy, feel free to bring along a sketchbook or any work you’d like to chat about.

Skelton Rangers Summer Playsceme

Summer nature playscheme for 8-13-year-olds at TCV Skelton Grange

This week-long playscheme is ALL about getting outside and we aim to be out in the fresh air for most of the day, every day!

Past events have included:

Shelter building, fire lighting, outdoor games, nature study, campfire cooking, field games, hammock making, wild food walks, wood work crafts, string making, bows and arrows, stalking and tracking, pyro-carving, and charcoal making.

Experimental Drawing with Mick Marston

Join Mick Marston for an evening of experimental drawing. You'll be introduced to a range of drawing techniques, interventions and experiments.

The emphasis is on exploration, enjoyment and play to promote confident approaches to the practice of drawing.

If you think that you can’t draw, then this workshop is for you. And if you can draw, this is also the workshop for you.
