Throwing on the Potter's Wheel with Sally Bradley

Spend an evening learning to throw on the potters wheel with expert guidance of ceramicist, Sally.

Beginners can learn the basics while more experienced throwers can hone their technique.

This is a skills based workshop for you to practice throwing. Whilst the majority of thrown objects will be reclaimed, you will be able to select one pot to be biscuit fired*.

Bring an apron and an old towel!

Sock Darning with Louise Goult

Darning socks is not only a great way to make them last longer, but also to add your own unique stamp on them.

In this workshop you'll learn different ways to darn socks, how to ensure the darn lasts, how to select threads and wools to darn socks and add some of your own personality to them.

This workshop is suitable for people of all levels of embroidery experience; please bring socks with you to darn.

Then this sewing basics class level 2 is perfect for you.

Two hours of learning the basics required to start making your own things, focusing on different seams and hems.

Stencil Screen Printing with Jenny

Join us for a workshop in paper stencil screen-printing one colour/layer of your own designs. This workshop will be hosted by Jenny, one of Left Banks own, who you might have seen working on our Café/Bar!

Jenny is a recent Fine Art graduate from the University of Leeds, where she specialised in Screen-printing. You can see some of her work on Instagram at @niceisntit.

In this workshop, Jenny will support you in the discovery of this new medium, while you get creative making some single colour screen art.

Treasured Fragments Drop-in Workshop | Textilia 3 Exhibition

As part of their exhibition with us Textilia 3 are hosting a FREE workshop.

Pop down and learn how to make a mini patchwork from recycled fabrics – a favourite shirt, grandad’s tie, ribbons and off-cuts of fabric. During the workshop, members of Textilia 3 will show you how to turn these treasures into a patch for your jeans or use it to decorate a bag or cushion. We will have all the tools and materials needed to make a small sample patchwork, but participants are encouraged to bring their own fabric too.
