Our classes focus on building your confidence and developing your skills while providing you with the expert techniques and safety knowledge you need to stand out from the crowd.

When?

Saturday 18th May. 12pm – 6pm for the main workshop with an additional hour of playtime afterwards!

What do you need to bring?

We will provide all fuel, hollow torches and safety equipment. All you need to bring is a 2ltr bottle of water and a can do attitude! Want to take a pair of torches home with you? They can be purchased on the day for a reduced rate of £30.

What should you wear?

Wearing clothing with natural fibres (not synthetic!) and avoiding loose fitting clothes will help keep you safe. We recommend you also wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty! Tight fitting black clothing is ideal. Loose hair/beards should be tied back where possible and avoid hair products/perfumes/deodorant that could be flammable. Some make-up is also flammable (particularly mascara) and we ask that you leave it at home.

Additional Information

The main workshop will last approximately 6 hours and is structured in a way to build confidence as the day goes on. There will also be an additional hour of “play time” at the end of the workshop. This time can be used to polish up any techniques you have learned and is an ideal time for any intermediate/advanced fire manipulators to get some more personal instruction, or to get some awesome pictures/video! Please aim to turn up to the venue by 11:30am so we can make sure the workshop starts on time.

The experience
Most people have a natural and healthy fear of fire! Because of this, we’ve developed our workshops in a way that builds confidence as the day goes on, so you never feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed.

Throughout the day, we will demonstrate the techniques you will learn, as well as explain the science behind how they work, the specific dangers, and how to protect yourself from them. After some unlit practice, we will light up your torches and begin learning how to work with the fire!

Our fire eating lessons last for approximately six hours (including a short break), with an additional one hour “play time” at the end to practice your new skills under our supervision to help give you more guidance and tips.

Once the workshop been completed, you’ll leave with a certificate as proof of your awesomeness and a comprehensive fire manipulation booklet to take home! This includes a recap of all the information from the workshop, as well as supplementary information including tips and tricks to help you on your fire manipulation journey!

The skills

As incredible as fire manipulation is, most techniques revolve around a handful of core concepts, such as…

⦁ Eating fire by extinguishing a lit torch in your mouth
⦁ Extinguishing a torch using jellyfish, hand and forced extinguishes
⦁ Body trails or “fuses” to transfer fire using your body
⦁ Collecting vapour from a hollow torch and from the wick itself
⦁ Manipulating vapour (the cool stuff!)
