Join us to celebrate International Zine Month with a jam-packed programme of activity and Zine making at Leeds City Museum's Make A Zine Day on Saturday 22 July 2023.

Explore making self-published Zines with the help of Footprint Workers Co-op, creating radical riso art prints to contribute to a collective zine that you can get your own free copy of, to take home at the end of the day.

Learn to make your own mini hot dog zines with collage and pens and join Leeds Libraries to create beautiful, stitched books and dig into the Leeds Zine Library collections for inspiration.

The Thackrey Medical Museum will also be sharing a selection of objects to handle and consider, including a robotic therapy cat called Sawdust.

Nick Gonzo of Zineophilia is sharing his expertise giving a fascinating talk on The History of Zines asking, 'What is a Zine? Where do they come from? Who makes them? What are they for?' Join us between 12pm and 1pm to find out! Great for anyone new to the scene.

Nick will also be facilitating a workshop (2pm - 3pm) on how to create Hardbacked Accordian Zines, and what you might want to put in them. This could be anything from poetry, veganism or simply an assortment of cats. Or why not be inspired by the museum collections around you.

There’s definitely something about a ‘Leeds Tiger’ Zine we love.
