Our third artist commissioned to produce one of four Leeds Film Festival posters is Biserka, an embroidery artist from Newcastle, living and working in Leeds.

Biserka's work is figurative with strong narrative elements and explores the closeness between the two worlds we all inhabit; the ‘real’ world and that which exists within our own heads. All her pieces are created and sewn freehand, influenced by the stories of classical mythology mixed with a healthy dose of sci-fi and comic culture. The delicacy of Biserka's work contrasts with the subject matter which often celebrates the strange and the melancholic.

This May she will also be exhibiting as part of the Victorian Dinner Table, curated by the Gallery at Munro House and Leeds Libraries as part of the Leeds Indie Food Festival. In her other life she works for Thought Bubble Comic Art Festival which runs every November in Leeds. You can find more of her work at bisbiserka.com or on Instagram at @bisbiserka

Biserka is one of four artists and designers working with Leeds Inspired and Leeds International Film Festival to produce posters for LIFF's 30th anniversary later this year.
