LEEDS 2023 and WOW - Women of The World Festival are on the lookout for young women and non-binary and gender non-conforming people to join them for a FREE twelve-week programme.

It’s an opportunity to develop skills in festival making and explore gender equality through activism and the arts. The WOWsers programme offers the chance to build new networks with other participants, artists, and activists, and to create their own event as part of a WOW festival in Leeds.

The programme is open to 15-18-year-olds residing in West Yorkshire, who identify as a female, non-binary or gender non-confirming.

What is a WOWser?

A young woman or non-binary person who wants to share their voice to campaign for a gender equal world, learn producing skills and make friends along the way.

What will I get out of it?

Hear from inspirational artists, take a trip to the Women of the World Festival in London, and create your own festival event with LEEDS 2023. You’ll also get the chance to have meaningful conversations about gender equality issues that matter to you and share how you want to make a change.

What’s the commitment and additional support?

Up to 12 sessions on Thursday evenings and occasional Saturdays (optional) from March to May 2023. We will provide travel expenses and additional access costs including a BSL interpreter, specialist transportation, and/or contributions towards support workers/care assistants/workers.
