Leeds Inspired loves a good poster, our office walls are plastered with event posters, gig posters and screenprints.
 
In 2014 we commissioned four illustrators to respond to our strapline ‘See What’s Out There’. The artwork was used to create posters and print to tell people about the Leeds Inspired What’s On website in the lead up to the Tour de France Grand Depart.

Chali 2na, emcee with the renowned golden-era hip hop collective Jurassic 5, is one of the greatest rappers to emerge from the hip hop scene of the early '90s. With the Jurassic 5 crew, who led the West Coast scene with Eazy E, The Pharcyde and Snoop Dogg among others, he cemented himself as a talented rapper, crucial to the excellent albums released by the crew during that period.

Over the past year Aire Place Studios have painstakingly created a new community arts space in Kirkstall to provide artists' studios and workshops designed to support people with a range of learning and access needs. Created without any official funding Aire Place Studios represents a real labour of love for the community of people who have built the space up and the venue was due to officially open in February 2016. Sadly the Boxing Day floods have washed away months of hard work leaving Aire Place Studios back at square one.

The Christmas Dinner project // Wed 23 Dec 2015 07:57 pm

Created by the poet Lemn Sissay "The Christmas Dinner" is organized by a set of artists, adult care leavers and social care professionals from each city where the Dinner takes place.   They work together from October to December  to provide a Christmas Day dinner to remember for care leavers between 16 and 30. Many young people leaving care are sat in flats, B&B’s, hostels, sofa surfing and indeed living on the streets on their own at Christmas. It can be a day to dread and then forget.
