Take a Seat

Take a Seat is a new exhibition by Next Step Pyramid.

Using classroom stools donated by Greenhead College and paint from Seagulls, Next Step have upcycled well-worn furniture into a collection of vibrant and original artworks.  

You are invited to come and enjoy the exhibition at Seagulls' new premises on Water Lane.

Next Step will be hosting an evening opening and exhibition launch from 6.30pm - 8.30pm on Thursday 10 October, all welcome.

'Word Cave' by Dan Collins

Where does the boundary lie between pictures and words? Where does drawing stop and writing begin? When does one become the other? In order to explore these questions more closely, Dan Collins has produced a series of word-paintings using a practice he describes as ‘shamanic calligraphy’.

'A Journey Of Conscious Awakening' by Amal Joy

Amal Joy presents 'A Journey Of Conscious Awakening', an exhibition of paintings exploring themes of spirituality, the natural world and sacred connection.

"Born in Kerala, India, I initially pursued a path in mechanical engineering, earning a degree in this field. I started doing art in my engineering years and this led me to the world of fine arts. Relocating to the United Kingdom, I developed my artistic skills by enrolling in BA Fine Art at Leeds Beckett University, where I delved into the nuances of artistic expression and conceptual exploration.

An evening with Peter Mitchell

One of the most renowned photographers of the 20th century, Peter Mitchell is perhaps most well-known for his documentary photography of Leeds across the 1970s and 80s while working as a delivery truck driver.

In celebration of Mitchell’s exhibition at Leeds Art Gallery, Nothing Lasts Forever, this special evening talk will see the artist himself reflecting on his long-rooted connection with the city of Leeds. Mitchell will share stories from his remarkable photography career and how his most iconic works came to be. This event will be interpreted in BSL.

Sheila Gaffney: Embodied Dreaming

Blenheim Walk Gallery is pleased to present Sheila Gaffney’s exhibition 'Embodied Dreaming'. Representative of her entire oeuvre, the exhibition, brings together for the first time a number of sculptures, drawings, video installation and image works, lightboxes, as well as unseen process-based models, and research material, highlighting the importance of process in her practice. The title of the exhibition is inspired by her doctoral thesis titled 'Embodied Dreaming' as a Sculptural Practice.
