Join us for a talk which delves into the Library's Special Collections. Dr Catherine Batt will reveal how historic texts and objects from the Library influenced communities. Learn about how people responded to the threats and attractions of witchcraft.

Hear about thirteenth-century charms to ward off evil. Learn about the notorious fifteenth-century ‘The Hammer of Witches' and how this book identifies and punishes sorcery. And discover witchcraft-related stories told in the twentieth century and preserved in the Leeds Archive of Vernacular Culture.

Dr Catherine Batt is a senior lecturer at the School Of English, University of Leeds
