In this workshop you'll learn how to upcycle a T-shirt into a really versatile yarn. You'll then learn how to transform this into chunky statement jewellery. Learn a variety of braiding, macrame and weaving techniques and how to finish the pieces off professionally.
All materials and equipment provided, but feel free to bring any t-shirts you'd like to upcycle!
It's £22 per person // £18 Student/low wage/NHS.
The workshop will take place at Scrap Creative Reuse Art Project, an absolutely amazing space full of recycled materials that can be bought and used for all sorts of creativity. It's an inspiring space with a new zero waste refill station too.
The room is on the first floor but there is a lift. There's ample parking outside in Sunny Bank Mills with a new carpark. Scrap is located in the Spinning Mill. We will be in the large and airy Making Room by the entrance. Light refreshments will be available as PAYF.
There will be hand sanitiser available, social distancing in place and spaces will be limited. While masks are not a legal requirement we appreciate people wearing them when you're moving around the space, and you're welcome to continue wearing yours if you feel more comfortable. If you feel unwell, have symptoms of covid or have been in contact with anyone who has please let me know so you can be moved onto a future session. If we go into another lockdown this workshop will be postponed until a safe date.
The workshop needs minimum numbers to run. In the unlikely event it doesn't meet this the workshop will be cancelled. Your booking is secured by payment and if you choose to cancel you get a refund up to 2 days before the event however after that no refund can be given.
