Tupac Shakur was born—and borne—of Black history. Throughout his life, the internationally-known, respected, and feared gangsta rapper immersed himself in the struggle for Black American liberation, and infused his music, politics, and body with representations of the past and hopes for the future.

This talk will explore Shakur as both activist for and artefact of Black liberation.
