Visit Making Japan, the latest temporary exhibition at Lotherton.Making Japan…
28 Jul 2021 - 5 Sep 2021
Plan a day out to Lotherton and become a summer explorer for a day! All summer holidays the estate will be open for outdoor fun on the two playgrounds, animal spotting in Wildlife World, museum wanderings in the hall and picnics in the gardens.
Outdoors you will find a lovely new trail of willow sculptures made by a local artist, along with plenty of areas for the kids to let off steam in the playgrounds and woodland.
At Wildlife World you can visit the new Nocturnal House to see bats, a kinkajou, Gaston the armadillo and a pair of giant cloud rats.
Explore the museum to find out about the history of the estate and see some of the quirky objects that the Gascoigne family owned. Upstairs you will be transported to Asia in the Making Japan exhibition which looks at the art, life and culture of the country through different themes and objects.
The hall also has a selection of Florence Nightingale items on display, highlighting the lady with the lamps incredible contribution to nursing and her connection to Lotherton.
During this period of social distancing and lockdown due to Coronavirus we advise that you check directly with the organiser of this event that it is going ahead as publicised.
