The Headrow, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 3AD

Adventurer, presenter, explorer, wildlife enthusiast and all-round daredevil, Steve Backshall, heads to Leeds for a special talk at Leeds Town Hall.

He puts the wild in wildlife. The Action Man of TV. We’re used to seeing Steve holding a deadly creature on the children’s show Deadly 60 or swimming with sharks on Blue Planet Live, but his latest challenge was his most jaw-dropping yet.

Steve took on ten expeditions in twelve months to remote parts of the planet not even on the map, proving that old-fashioned exploration and adventure is alive. From the depths of Mexican caves to scaling heights in the Arabian Peninsula, Steve promises to inject Leeds audiences with the adrenalin of his most ambitious expeditions to date.

Steve Backshall has been leading expeditions to unknown parts of the world for nearly twenty years. Inspired his current BBC series and book, Expedition: Adventures into Undiscovered Worlds, Steve’s talk encompasses astonishing tales from a year of adventure. From taking light into forgotten caves, making first ascents of Arctic peaks, and first descents of Himalayan rivers – he talks of narrow escapes and scrapes, plus jaw dropping tales of close calls with near certain death as well as lessons learned from his extraordinary year.

Steve is one of the best loved wildlife presenters in the UK. Suitable for wildlife enthusiasts of all ages from eight to 80, the event includes an extended Q&A session and book signing.
