Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, LS2 9JT

Discover the sculptural heartbeat of Leeds, from the energetic Legs Walking by Kenneth Armitage to Quentin Bell’s eye-catching Dreamer.

This extended walking tour will reveal the hidden histories of Leeds, beginning with the once forgotten Central Court at Leeds Art Gallery, brought to life by artist Ayse Erkmen for her new commission, to Joseph Beuys’ 7000 Oaks tree which is often overlooked in the city centre.

The tour will encompass a wide range of sculpture located at the University of Leeds campus, including recently installed works, before ending at The Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery. Enjoy a well-deserved cup of tea and slice of cake to round off the day.

The walk last approx 1 hour and 30 minutes, the route is step free. We can provide portable folding stools for use en route, these will be collectable from the initial meeting point, if you wish to reserve a stool please indicate at the time of booking. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing a drink.

Please meet at Legs Walking, outside Mill Hill Chapel, City Square, Leeds.

This event is part of the Sculpture in the Round Conversations series organised by University of Leeds and Yorkshire Sculpture International.
