This is a workshop exploring self-care, writing and creativity. A way to check-in with you in light of winter and lockdown.
Some people think of creativity as child’s play. It’s something we did when we were younger, but now that we’re adults we don’t have time for such trivial activity. What we don’t realise is that there are a lot of benefits that we can reap if we stop being so serious and start having some fun.
If you’re feeling stuck in a rut, spending some time doing something creative can be an excellent form of emotional self-care.
Creative self-care is not just about regular exercise, eating right, and making time to relax. It’s making sure that you have something to be excited about when you wake up in the morning.
For me (Adekola), it’s about connecting with family and friends, creating, and basketball. For you, it might be something else. Or, maybe you aren’t even sure what gets you going anymore.
If you are feeling low, anxious, or generally “blah,” passion is an excellent way to combat these feelings. Taking risks and facing your fears can help with your mood.
Creativity is good for us and helps us connect with who we are. Play and fun are important even for adults.
In this interactive workshop exploring self-care, and creativity, there will be games, poetry, music and writing in a relaxed environment.
