Roller Dance Class 2020
Monday 8pm - 9.30pm
Roller dance is great for agility, co-ordination, balance and wheel control. We mostly teach rhythm roller dance, which is a little like line dancing on skates.
We will be holding these skate classes in mini-blocks so we can theme the music and work towards a little routine.
While we would love to see you every week, we recognise this isn't possible for some people, and our class pass is designed with you in mind! Come whenever you can; there is no expiry date! We are more than happy to take musical suggestions and any dance steps you may want to learn.
You need to be able to skate forward, weave through cones and stop confidently as a minimum requirement. Most skaters who have completed our beginner course and have continued to practise will be ready for this! We work as one group and will also sometimes work individually with you as you practise and learn new steps. We may also split into groups for those who have more or less experience with roller dance.
First block 2020: 5 weeks
This block will focus on group and couple dances in preparation for the Valentine disco.
Second block 2020: 5 weeks
In this block we will create a routine together to some classic 90's pop tunes.
Map to the postcode, or to 'Joseph Priestley Centre'. If you drive down Primrose Lane from the end with Aldi, you need to go straight on at the Junction. Once you see the Joseph Priestley Centre on the right, the OCSH is on the opposite side, about 50m further down. It is behind a metal fence, set slightly back from the road. On the fence are some signs about residents' meetings. We will do our best to remember to put our banner outside to help you find this venue. Parking is on street parking. Please do not map to 'Cockburn Sports Hall' which is on Gypsy Lane in Hunslet. This is entirely the wrong place.
Class passes can be used at Roller Dance (Monday) and General Intermediate skills (Sunday) classes and a full one entitles the holder to £5 off in our shop! Book a class pass by clicking below
