Brudenell Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS6 1JD

Organised by the Crafts Council, Real to Reel is the UK’s only festival devoted to craft, with a signature selection of engaging shorts exploring the human relationship with making and materials.

The 28 short films selected feature contemporary weaving, woodwork, ceramics, glassblowing and metalsmithing, offering a unique opportunity to witness craft in action and the narratives, passion and skill inherent in the creation of works. The programme also unites some unusual and perhaps unexpected tales of making – from miniatures, to replica birds’ eggs, to a human-powered bakery – along with animations that bring to life fibre, wool, clay and found objects.

Screening in two parts with an interval, Real to Reel is presented by Leeds International Film Festival.
