Re-shift, Re-calibrate is a six-part online exhibition featuring 17 film and video works from the UK, France, Morocco, French Guyana, Australia and Egypt.
Each year Pavilion invites a different curator to put together a programme in response to films submitted by members of the Artists’ Moving Image Network – our year-round critical forum for artists working with film and video. The focus is on presenting film and video work by West Yorkshire artists in dialogue with international artists and filmmakers.
Curated by Myriam Mouflih, Re-shift, Re-calibrate has been shaped for a temporarily diffused audience – each of us moving to different daily rhythms, yet sharing many of the same thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Every day from 10–15 August a new group of films will be posted on Pavilion’s website. Each programme will be available to watch at any time for three-days. A series of audio notes (including interviews and conversations with artists) produced in collaboration with Sable Radio will accompany the films.
Myriam Mouflih is a curator, programmer and writer born in Casablanca, Morocco and based in Glasgow. Her main area of research is artists moving image from the African continent and the diaspora. She is on the programming teams for Africa in Motion Film Festival and Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival. Myriam was nominated by Herb Shellenberger, who curated Pavilion's Artists’ Moving Image Network Screening Weekend in 2019.
