Join Jo at Chirpy and Agnis Smallwood as they celebrate their business birthday's together this November - Why not join us for the whole weekend?

Jo and Agnis are collaborating with talented makers Nicky from Done up North and Jo of CherryPeg, also regular workshop facilitators at Chirpy, to bring two days of fun filled workshops.

Why not book for both days and join us for a creative and relaxing weekend of making. You'll save £19 by booking on both days

Saturday 9th November

10:00 - 15:00

Picture Frame Painting & Weaving

Learn the basics of furniture painting with Nicky from Done up North to customise your frame before weaving in your decoration with textile artist Agnis Smallwood in the afternoon.

Nicky will share with you her tools & techniques for prepping and painting furniture to achieve a smooth, long-lasting, professional finish. You’ll be painting with the leading edge furniture paint - Fusion Mineral Paint. It’s lovely to use, is extremely hard-wearing and, best of all, requires no top coat or wax. You'll get to design and create your own pattern to decorate your frame to compliment your weaving.

Agnis will demonstrate how to add your own bespoke warp to the frame before suggesting ways that different coloured and textured yarn can be used effectively within your work. There will be a large range of yarns available to use from natural to man-made and lots of colour choice as well.

Sunday 10th November

10:00 - 15:00

Embroidered Felt Purse Workshop - Wet felting & Embroidery

Learn how to felt your own piece of fabric with Agnis before then turning this into a purse and adding hand stitched embroidery detail in the afternoon with Jo Oxley of CherryPeg.

Agnis will lead you through the steps of how to wet felt using sheep's fleece, resulting in creating your very own piece of felted fabric. You will design and hand felt your piece of felt. You will be using merino fleece and able to choose from a large variety of different colours.

Jo will demonstrate how to add beautiful hand stitched detailing to your work, showing you a range of embroidery techniques you may like to use within your work. She will also guide you through how to make your purse and finishing it off with a button.

Both days are perfect for beginners

As well as a fun weekend exploring four different techniques and taking away your beautiful hand made creations at the end of the weekend you will also receive a delicious lunch on both days from local Chapel Allerton businesses to enjoy half way through and drinks throughout the day.
