In Autumn 2020, for the Instituto Cervantes in Leeds' Reading Club we will be reading the novel Last Evenings with Teresa (Últimas tardes con Teresa), by Barcelonian writer Juan Marsé. Marsé (Barcelona, 1933) was one of the most prominent writers of his generation, known as Generación del 50, and in 2008 he was awarded the Cervantes Prize for his entire work.
The objective of the Reading Club, apart from improving the reading comprehension and speaking in Spanish, is to introduce to the attendees to the life and work of Marsé, and discover his social and historical context and the concerns and motives that fed his literary production.
