Online Event

part of Yorkshire Dance's Climate Encounters festival

The complexity and challenge of the climate emergency sees many artists find new contexts, different places, partners and collaborators. Redefining their relationship to community, to earth and nature new (and ancient) practices emerge.  If climate justice is interwoven with racial justice in a crisis resulting from capitalism, how do artists start to re-negotiate existing hierarchies and marginalisation? How do they inspire connection, curiosity, insight and empowerment for change?

During this talk we have the chance to hear from Rita Marcalo and Tiago Gambogi amongst others about how they develop working practices with people directly or indirectly affected by the climate emergency.
