A Mile in Someone Else’s Shoes
Third Saturday of the month
Walk a mile in someone else's shoes!
Local social enterprise 'Tales of a City Tours' are running a series of monthly walking tours around Leeds city centre, led by tour guides with a refugee background.
Join us in celebrating the city's diversity as we hear stories of culture and countries from around the world. The Tales of a City guides will ask you to walk a mile (or so) in their shoes as they take you on a journey around Leeds city centre, sharing their own personal experiences of being a newcomer to the city they now call home.
We have two amazing tour guides: Rawand from Iraqi Kurdistan, and Lilly, who is originally from South Africa. Depending on the tour, the starting location will be different (although both very central!). Please check the Eventbrite page for start and end location. The tour will take around an hour and a half. Please be prepared for all weathers and wear comfy shoes.
We look forward to seeing you there!
The tour is on a Pay-As-You-Feel basis, and you are free to contribute any amount to our guides at the end of the tour, if you've enjoyed it and feel you have learnt something! We are a not for profit organisation and your contributions help us to continue to fund our work. Our guides are paid above the living hourly wage for each tour, providing part time employment, financial support, lots of opportunities for skills development and work experience in the UK.
Please book tickets through Eventbrite:
- Adults only
