Join local novelist, Mark Connors, reading from his second novel, Tom Tit and the Maniacs, a thoughtful and poignant tale about growing up in Leeds in the late 70s/early 80s. The novel is set in Horsforth in the final year of the hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper and tells the story of Tom Wilkins, a 10-year-old boy coming to terms with his grandfather’s death, his mother’s recent admission into High Royds Psychiatric Hospital and the fact that the threat from the Yorkshire Ripper seems to be getting ever closer to home.

The reading will be followed by a Q & A where Mark will discuss both his novels in the context of his own family history.
