In Memory of J Dilla - LCoM ACS Band/ The Space Antics / APLTN
13 Feb 2020 7:30pm
This February, marking 14 years since his passing, we will be celebrating and reliving some of the best moments from the life of the greatest hip-hop producer, rapper and musical genius; J Dilla.
We are extremely lucky to have ACS - Leeds College of Music on board with us in this journey as they will be arranging and re-working a handful of the most popular J Dilla tracks to accommodate for their 10-piece live band.
Not to mention, because of the special occasion, the support acts will also be throwing a few era-relevant covers in the mix too.
The Space Antics are notorious for their explosive stage presence and will bring a lot of energy along with their set.
APLTN takes of influence from the L.A. hip-hop scene around the time of J Dilla. His most recent gigs have included arrangements of tracks from Flying Lotus, Herbie Hancock and Robert Glasper; all of which have worked with/had their work sampled and remixed by J Dilla at some point in time.
February 13th will be an eye-opening experience of how J Dilla’s work will forever influence artists, musicians and producers alike.
Please check times with event organiser for any last minute changes.
