Gosh it's good to be back! We're hosting a chilled-out…
For The Love Of Food: British Street Food Awards 2014
26 Sep 2014 - 28 Sep 2014
Are you ready for the biggest, and bestest carnival of street food in THE WORLD? With FREE craft beer? In the heart of Leeds? This three-day festival of food, drink and entertainment will see the 25 BEST street food traders from Britain and EUROPE going head-to-head to win YOUR vote.
Taste what's hot from the coolest vans, trucks and trailers trading all weekend, including a BBQ laboratory that would make Heston jealous, a Gujarati horse box and a solar kitchen - from Helsinki. They have all been through SIX regional heats to qualify for the weekend - the grand finals of the British Street Food Awards - so come and vote for your favourite while you drink FREE craft beer from our supporters Brooklyn Brewery and Erdinger, or an 'intervened' smoothie for the kids, blended by The Real Junk Food Project. We'll explain when you get here.
Hang out ALL DAY at the secret gin speakeasy or the rum tiki bar. There'll be some pretty amazing cocktails too, made by some very special bartenders. Or sit on our very own village green, with vintage caravans, a fete with a difference, kids corner and longlonglong bunting.
Expect hotdogs, picklebacks and jamming in the Dogtown Guitar Lounge. There'll be DJ sets and music programmed by super-cool Heavenly Recordings. All the entertainment around the Square is included in the ticket price - there's a competiton with a tape measure, celebrity chefs versus street food chefs in live food battles on the demo stage and the giant screen, street food start-up master-classes in our Q&A sessions and we'll be introducing "queue-raoke" (we'll explain about that as well).
