The Brodrick Room

Leeds Town Hall, The Headrow, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 3AD

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of civic partnership between the cities of Leeds and Dortmund, Germany. As part of the anniversary celebrations, students from Leeds City College and the UZWEI in Dortmund have been working together to produce an exhibition of 50 images that reflect the true identity of both cities.

Also on display alongside this exhibition in the Brodrick Room is a tapestry style artwork which has been produced by visual artist Louise Atkinson in collaboration with Dr Claudia Sternberg as part of a project by the University of Leeds focusing on German nationals living in Leeds. The content of this digital fabric print has been supplied by and developed in conversation with German nationals and their descendants living in Yorkshire about their experiences and memories.

Please note: Leeds Town Hall hosts civic celebrations and ticketed and private events. As such, access to building may be restricted during stated opening hours. Please contact 0113 378 6016 before visiting to ensure there are no restrictions at the time you plan to visit.
