Improvisation Performance Research Group w/ Rachel Dean

These sessions are an opportunity for experienced improvisers (movers, musicians, other art forms..) with a keen professional interest in performing improvisation to come together to play, research and spark creative relationships. Rachel Dean will facilitate these initial sessions with the focus on creating a collaborative environment where all participants can explore their current interests and those which emerge. Drop in to as many of the three sessions as you like.
Ticketing: £4 on the day. (card machine available)
Rachel Dean is a dance artist combining making, performing and teaching. Particular areas of expertise are improvisation, Contact Improvisation, an embodied approach and site-based work.
With Mathilde Collective she researched improvised ensemble performance through over 25 live performances. She has created improvised performances with her young children in gallery and theatre settings.
She works with a wide variety of groups, organises Improvisation Exchange and teaches at Yorkshire Dance, Independent Dance, Improvisation Exchange, London Contact Improvisation, Leeds Contact Improvisation, Mind the Gap, University of Lincoln and York St John. Rachel has a BPA from NSCD and an MA from Independent Dance/Laban.
