Houses in Headingley: Jonathan Hooper
11 Jan 2020 - 20 Feb 2020
Jonathan's paintings combine realist depictions of the built landscape of Leeds, with the emotional elements of colour and abstraction.
This exhibition focuses on Headingley. It brings together recent paintings of red brick terraces, semi-detached houses, walls, gates and fences; street scenes from ten years ago, the start of Jonathan's fascination with this city as a subject; and two etchings from 25 years ago which show the same domestic architecture, giving an additional perspective on the recent work.
The exhibition is in the ground floor corridor of HEART.
During this period of social distancing and lockdown due to Coronavirus we advise that you check directly with the organiser of this event that it is going ahead as publicised.

Easy access for people with disabilities is a priority at HEART, and the centre features extra-wide doors, ramps, easy open main door, and a lift to all floors. Assistance dogs are always welcome, and we will always do what we can to ensure the centre is accessible to all. HEART is also proud to be one of the only centres in the north of Leeds with a ‘Changing Places Disabled Toilet’ in line with the Changing Places campaign. HEART is tremendously proud to have won the Community Benefit award at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Pro Yorkshire Regional Awards for 2014.
