Wander the rooms of the Gascoigne’s former home at Lotherton and discover the family’s other properties and estates in this new community display.
Telling the stories of Lotherton (England), Parlington (England), Castle Oliver (Ireland), and Craignish (Scotland), visitors will find out what it was like to own and live in such grand homes. They will also get an insight into how the local communities interacted with their gentry neighbours through work, music, art and sport.
This display will link to the eveningwear exhibition, What Shall I Wear, through stories of parties and fashion that the family were famous for.

Access
A proportion of the museum is fully accessible.
There is a lift and almost all visitor areas, including the Fashion Galleries, are now fully accessible.
Due to the historic nature of the hall and its displays, larger motorised wheelchairs and scooters cannot navigate the visitor route, so these aids are not permitted. Light wheelchairs are available to borrow for use in the house.
Some rooms on the first floor are accessed by a chair lift.
