Glen Baxter: Unhinged in Hunslet
1 Mar 2019 - 11 Apr 2019
Born in Leeds, Glen Baxter (b.1944) is a London-based surrealist artist working internationally. A Leeds Arts University alumnus from the period 1960-65, he is now widely recognised for his humorous and witty narrative art forms exploring nonsense and pulp fiction. Recurrent themes include scout camp, vegan catering, and Western imagery.
His first exhibition took place in the historical avant-garde hub of Gotham Book Mart in New York, and he recently exhibited in Paris. Baxter is a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
