Cures: Poetry Book Launch and Open-Mic Online
Jo Brandon will be reading from her second full-length collection…
Join two Valley Press poets as they celebrate the release of their latest collections. Plus, perform your own work at a virtual open-mic session.
Anne Caldwell will be reading from Alice and the North, her sequence of prose poems that form a love-song to the North, its post-industrial landscapes, wild uplands, obsession with weather, seasonal change and awkwardness. And Matthew Hedley Stoppard will be reading from The Garland King, his second collection of poetry that creates an uncanny space where traditional customs and modern anxieties mix.
The event will also feature an open-mic section of 10 three-minute slots that can be booked on a first come, first served basis by emailing matthew.stoppard@leeds.gov.uk. There will be a back-up list of replacement readers for those who have to cancel at short notice.
During this period of social distancing and lockdown due to Coronavirus we advise that you check directly with the organiser of this event that it is going ahead as publicised.
