Feminist Archive North holds a rich assortment of material collected from the early 1970s onwards, recording the Women's Liberation Movement.
It includes over 1000 periodicals; oral histories; textiles and ephemera which have all been donated by organisations and individuals.
The archive is housed within Special Collections at the Brotherton Library, University of Leeds. The material can be viewed on request and is widely used by students, academics and activists, for research and general interest.
Lesbian feminists have always been at the forefront of campaigns alongside our heterosexual sisters, with a particularly strong presence in challenging violence against women by organising and taking action with – for example, Women's Aid; Rape Crisis; Zero Tolerance; and Reclaim the Night.
Please note the museum is closed on Mondays.
Please check times with event organiser for any last minute changes.
The whole building is accessible and interactives and displays are set at a variety of heights.
