EMAAN's Open Mic
Third Saturday of the month
Eastern Media and Arts Network (EMMAN www.emaan.tv) hosts an open mic session on the third Saturday of each month.
Curated by poet Ahmed Kaysher, each session presents manily local talents around the North in poetry, music, dance, film and other art forms.
Each session offers live music, talk, film screening, dance performance along with poetry reading from Urdu, Persian, Bengali, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, English and other European languages with English translation.
The event aims to network between performers of different genres of arts around the North and share artistic ideas, generate ways for mutual support and collaboration to shape the ideas.
Each live performance will be captured and short documentaries will be made by local young film-makers and will be broadcasted in EMAAN TV, You Tube channel to promote the creative works of local poets/ writers and performers widely to the rest of the world..
This will entail photography exhibition/presentation in the library, too, to promote local pgotographers' works.
The event is supported by Leeds Libraries.
