Let kids unleash their creativity at this four-week course about…
Drawing with Ears
Saturday 10am - 11.30am
Journey into the unexpected at these mindful art sessions, where you’ll use drawing as a tool to explore your senses, and vice versa!
As an individual or small family group, you’ll move between workstations and experiment with different activities, from drawing using only your sense of touch to crafting Matisse-like masterpieces with strands of spaghetti. You might create visual representations of spoken words, draw focusing on light and shadow rather than line, or flip the script by paying attention to negative space.
This stripped-back approach to creating art will give you new ways to see the world around you. You don’t need any experience and there are no wrong answers – simply follow your own path and see where it leads.
Ben’s sessions are designed to help you create mindfully, drawing you into a meditative state as you channel your senses. They’ll allow you to develop a more creative mindset and perhaps inspire you to devise your own cross-sensory art activities.
You can book these free classes one by one, or develop your skills by booking for the full five weeks. Booking is essential.
These weekly workshops are led by practising artist Ben Cummins. Ben has previously created an array of unique cultural gatherings, sonic art performances, exhibitions and light projections at venues throughout the UK. He has also lectured and facilitated workshops at Brighton University.
We’ve put social distancing measures in place to keep you safe during your time at Left Bank. Hand sanitiser will be available so that you can clean your hands between each workstation.
All money raised through this event will support the development of Left Bank Leeds Charitable Trust, (charity no. 1146734).
Please note, we take photos at our events for marketing purposes. If you would prefer not to appear in these, please let a member of staff know when you arrive so they can inform the photographer.
During this period of social distancing and lockdown due to Coronavirus we advise that you check directly with the organiser of this event that it is going ahead as publicised.
