Dance workshops with Darcy Wallace at MAP Charity
14 Sep 2019 1pm - 4pm
This workshop is about BALLET - Its problems, its joy, it's beauty and its power. We will talk about and physically explore what this wild genre of dance means now in 2019.
If you are under 21 years old and interested to know more, you are invited to take part in a free 1-day workshop as part of PUBLIC BODY (the ballet), a project by award-winning dancer and choreographer Darcy Wallace.
There is no previous knowledge or experience required, all that you need to bring is your enthusiasm! Through these workshops you will have the opportunity to learn, improvise, create and discuss in an inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly space.
You will have the chance to learn and discuss what it means to do, learn, perform and watch BALLET.
Darcy wants to work with young people through running accessible, relatable workshops in order to explore what they know and expect from ballet, as a starting point to discuss gender identity and performance.
