Saturdays 1pm - 5pm
Socially distanced Saturday sessions to get your creative juices flowing and meet like-minded people.
Each Saturday in August, 1-5pm, we're opening up our inspiring space for all kinds of creative pursuits. We've got loads of room at Left Bank, so it's the perfect place to do indoor activities when you don't want to be stuck at home!
Our little cafe will be open for food and drink, plus this is a great opportunity to meet new people with similar interests in a safe, socially distant way. Just head out into the garden when you need some fresh air.
Each week has a different theme:
1 August - Room to Write
This session is for people with an established writing practice, as well as beginners looking to get started with journaling or even writing a novel.
Take advantage of our beautiful, calming space as you get your head down and write, write, write! You can bring your laptop or do it the old-fashioned way with a pen and paper. From 3.30-4.15pm, local author Phillip Whiteley will host an informal group discussion, where you'll have the opportunity to chat with other writers about what you're working on. This is voluntary, so don't worry if you prefer to keep your work to yourself.
8 August - The Stitch Up
Spend a Saturday getting to grips with your latest sewing project and make new connections with other savvy sewers. You can bring whatever you need along with you – we've got plenty of plugs for sewing machines and big tables to cut fabric. If you're tackling a handsewn project, why not make yourself comfy on the sofas?
We're really excited to have The Mobile Haberdashery joining us at this session. Get your fabric, ribbons, buttons, trims, zips and more at this haberdashers-on-wheels!
15 August - Make Your Mark
People who paint and draw – this one's for you! Get a change of scene, find a little inspiration and have plenty of space to spread out in our beautiful building. Simply bring your pencils or paints along and get started.
From around 3pm, you're welcome to join in with an informal painting session with print designer and illustrator Chloe Hedley.
22 August - Time Out
Aaaaand breathe! Our final session offers an opportunity to find some headspace. Whether you want to meditate, journal, read or simply sit and contemplate, this time is yours.
Local artist and meditation teacher Ben Cummins will lead a short, informal guided meditation from around 3pm.
All money raised through this event will support the development of Left Bank Leeds Charitable Trust, (charity no. 1146734).
Please note, we take photos at our events for marketing purposes. If you would prefer not to appear in these, please let a member of staff know when you arrive so they can inform the photographer.
During this period of social distancing and lockdown due to Coronavirus we advise that you check directly with the organiser of this event that it is going ahead as publicised.
