'Let’s discover the fun facts and magical sound of Harpsichord anc Violin!’

Prior to their evening recital, Asuka & Masumi will bring your family an enjoyment of casual classical concert with interactive talks and visual presentations on a big projection screen.

Children will marvel at the sound of violin and baroque keyboard instrument, harpsichord in a spacious Wesley Hall of Otley Methodist Church. Perfect educational activity in Saturday afternoon to all children!

This event will be ca.45min length.

Children must be supervised by an adult.

Harpsichordist Masumi Yamamoto was born in Osaka Japan, grew up on Australia’s Gold Coast and has been based in the UK since 2001. She has appeared at several major concert venues across Europe, and has performed as far afield as Malaysia, Japan and Australia. Masumi was a prize winner at the International Harpsichord Competition in Bruges.

Asuka Sumi is a violinist based in Leeds and specialising in historical performance practice.
In 2013, Asuka won the Biber Competition’s “Romanus Weichlein Prize” in Austria. Since moving to Leeds in 2015 and invigorating the early music scene in northern England, she is rapidly playing with groups such as the Gabrieli Consort, the Parley of Instrument and Leeds Baroque with which she is appointed to the orchestra leader from 2021.
