Carnival Creative Workshop with Chapeltown Arts

Carnival Creative Workshop with Chapeltown Arts
Dates and times

14 Aug 2017 & 14 Sep 2017

Show Map

Union 105 Gallery

105 Chapeltown Road, Chapeltown, Leeds, LS7 3HY

Two visual arts workshops lead by Chapeltown based artists Sandra Whyles & Carol Sorhaindo.

Participants are invited to contribute to a collaborative piece of work that responds to carnival as a theme. Drawing on different artists as inspiration, participants will use paper folding methods and other dry materials to ‘paint’ with to create a relief style wall piece.

The resources used will be scraps, paper, found objects and recycled material. The piece will reflect carnival and its costumes, material, light and joy as well as its meaning, tradition and celebratory nature.

Participants are invited to attend both workshops. Both workshops are FREE but booking is essential. You are welcome to attend both workshops but please book onto each workshop separately.
